Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 8, 2026

spotstr connects people with local professionals who are free right now. These guidelines apply to everyone who uses spotstr, clients and professionals alike, everywhere in the app: profiles, photos and videos, deals, requests and SpotSignals, Ask posts, reviews and messages. They sit alongside our Terms of Service; if anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms apply.

Be real

  • You must be 18 or older to use spotstr.
  • Use your own identity. Don’t impersonate another person or business, and don’t run fake accounts.
  • Professionals: use real photos and videos of your own work, or ones you have permission to use. Keep your services and prices accurate.
  • Turn on Available only when you can actually take clients.
  • Deals must be for services you really offer, at a real discount from your normal price, and you must honour them.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
  • No hate speech, and no discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  • Treat people professionally in messages and in person. If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.

No sexual content or services

  • Don’t offer, request or advertise sexual services, escorting or adult entertainment.
  • Don’t share nudity, pornography or sexually explicit material anywhere on spotstr, including in portfolios and private messages.
  • Anything that sexualises or endangers a minor is strictly forbidden. See our Child Safety Standards.
  • Follow the law where you live and work. Don’t offer, request or arrange illegal goods or services.
  • Professionals must hold every licence, permit and insurance their work requires, and follow health, safety and hygiene rules.
  • No violent or graphic content, and nothing that promotes self-harm or dangerous acts.

No spam, scams or fake reviews

  • No fraud, scams, phishing or pressure to pay outside agreed terms.
  • Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. Don’t write fake reviews, pay for reviews, or review yourself.
  • No spam, repeated unwanted messages, or misleading links.
  • Don’t scrape, copy or misuse spotstr or its data.

Respect privacy

  • Don’t share anyone’s personal information without their permission.
  • Professionals: use a client’s profile and messages only to handle that client’s enquiry or booking.
  • Don’t record or photograph people without their consent.

You answer for what you post and do

Everyone on spotstr, client or professional, is personally responsible for what they post, write, say, offer and do, and for the work they provide (see section 13B of the Terms). spotstr doesn’t check content in advance.

Respect spotstr itself

  • Don’t hack, probe, scan, overload or try to break into the app, the website or the systems behind them, and don’t access accounts or data that aren’t yours.
  • Don’t copy the app, its design, texts or features, and don’t use the spotstr name or logo, or a confusingly similar one, without permission.
  • Found a security problem in good faith? Tell us at support@spotstr.com instead of using it. See sections 15A and 16A of the Terms.

If you believe something on spotstr infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@spotstr.com with the details listed in section 13C of the Terms. We may remove the material and tell the person who posted it.

Reporting

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, tap “…” on the profile, chat, review, deal or Ask post and choose Report. Reports are confidential. You can also email support@spotstr.com. If anyone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.

What happens if the rules are broken

We may remove content, hold a deal for review, or warn, restrict or close an account, depending on how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before. We tell the person why and how to appeal. Serious violations, and anything involving a minor, can lead to immediate removal and a report to the authorities.

Appeals

If you think we made a mistake, reply to our message or email support@spotstr.com from the email address on your account, and tell us what happened.
